Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

The short version: if you join my waitlist, I keep your email address so I can send you The Problem Pile, tell you when pre-orders open, and let you know when the book is out. I don’t sell it, I don’t share it for marketing, and you can unsubscribe any time.

Who I am

This site is run by Hayley Duszynski, trading as Hales Gone Rogue (@halesgonerogue), a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom and the creator of My Life Went to Sh*t. Now What? I’m responsible for the personal data collected here.

You can contact me about anything on this page at hey@halesgonerogue.com or by post at Unit 172062, PO Box 7169, Poole, BH15 9EL, United Kingdom.

What I collect

The “What did you lose?” tick boxes on the page are just for you. Nothing you tick is saved or sent anywhere.

Why I use it

I use your email address to send you The Problem Pile, updates about the book, pre-order and launch information, and occasional emails about my other work. I only do this because you asked to join (your consent). You can withdraw that consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email.

Who else handles it

I use a few trusted services to run this site. They only process your data to provide their service to me:

The book itself is sold by Amazon, so Amazon handles your order and payment under its own terms and privacy policy. Links to my Stan store and Instagram also take you to their sites, which have their own policies. Purchases on my Stan store are covered by my Stan store terms.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set its own tracking or advertising cookies.

How long I keep it

I keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it, it’s removed within 30 days.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how I use it. Just email me at the address above. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
